Spiritus Gladius.
These words are found emblazoned in the century-old stained glass above the
red entry doors to historic Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church. Literally, the
Latin words mean Sword of the Spirit, a traditional emblem for the
Apostle Paul, for whom our church is named.
This is altogether fitting and appropriate,
for there is a wonderful sense of the Spirit—the Holy Spirit—moving in and
about us. It is cutting and carving new chapters in our church’s 126-year
history. Through the work of the Spirit, we are enjoying new growth, both
spiritually and with new members. These are exciting times for us as we
gather in Christian community.
